I LOVE the idea of crafts with my kids. But a lot of times, if I’m honest, it JUST doesn’t happen. I make things WAY too complicated. That’s why I have all the love for THIS craft. Literally took 3.5 seconds to pull out the materials. Yep, right up there with super car speed. (That’s about as close to a super car as I’m going to get. That and watching Top Gear. I don’t think my SAHM salary can afford a Bugatti Veyron, nor do I think it has cup holders….um hello?! SO not “super” Mr. “Super Car.”)
Anyway, 3.5 seconds and you are IN business. (You only need 3 materials to make your own fireworks.)
My kiddos haven’t actually been to a fireworks show yet.
(Is this an epic parenting fail? Hear me out…..Firework shows start soooo late since it doesn’t get dark until about 9:00….boo! Just a recipe for disaster.) I mentioned in this post here that July 4th is also my birthday, so I tend to not want to be having cranky kiddos on my birthday if I can help it. I mean, I’d love to avoid this EVERYDAY of the year, but on my birthday, it’s kind of like a gift I can give myself!

Since we don’t go to a big fireworks shindig (aside from the random light shows we’ve watched over tree tops thanks to unknown people in our neighborhood), we need to make our own fireworks “show.” Cue the craft supplies.
All you need for this project:
We found everything at our local Dollar Tree! [Insert happy dance of bargain-loving-mama here.]
There really are no directions needed! Just have fun! (Although my daughter “recommends” 4 sticks per firework and says to “first make an “X” with your popsicle sticks and put a small dot of glue in the center.”) The more sequins the better!
Enjoy your own family-fun, 4th of July show, with these easy fireworks!
