Alrighty ladies, Valentine’s Day…
What are you thoughts? Are you for it, or against it?
It definitely can be “one of those holidays” that can lead to disappointment.
You know what I would LOVE for Valentine’s Day? (Well, besides an IKEA shopping spree or a vacation?)
I’ll give you a clue. It starts with a “S” and ends with a “LEEP.” It’s funny how love changes and evolves as you’ve been with somebody for a long while (ahem…and get older)!
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE fresh flowers, jewelry, and…..
donuts (I actually don’t care for chocolate….I know, total WEIRDO! I would MUCH rather have a box of donuts than a box of candy! Please stay friends, okay?) BUT even though I love (and WOULD love to receive one of those surprises come February 14th, I would also adore a morning of staying in.my.bed. (You know how Disney World is the “happiest place on earth”? That’s kind of the way I feel about my bed! Ha!)
Technically, I have a “date” for Valentine’s Day. (I use the word “date” in the figurative sense and not the LITERAL sense. YES, I am married, but let’s be honest….are we REALLY going to go on a “date” for February 14th?
The Crazy Eight Ball (basically the orb of all knowledge and enlightenment) says, “My sources say no.” #truth
Here’s the photographic proof:
I’m not sure who the “sources” are, but who questions such discernment? [wink]
When I taught kindergarten, I used to explain Valentine’s Day as “a day you stop and tell those you care about how MUCH you care about them.” Put this way, it doesn’t JUST have to be a holiday for those with significant others, it’s for EVERYONE!
And with that being said, I have some gift tags I whipped up for you so you can spread those good, all-the-feels-and-appreciating-vibes around! (That was a mouth full, but you understand!) Grab a little treat for a friend, teacher, neighbor, co-worker, kiddo, hey, even the mail-carrier! (Although I wouldn’t sign it “secret admirer” and put it in the mailbox, since they CLEARLY would see whose house it was from….)

Now to Spread Some Love!
First thing you have to do is pick out what kinds of treats you want!
Then cut those gift tags out! (I like the paper cutter I have to help make this go super fast!) See graphic at the end of the post.
Now to Get Everything Lookin’ Pretty!
You can go totally simple and just put the gift tag right on the packaging. (To jazz this one up a bit I used a tiny clothespin I had on hand. You can find some similar here.)
If you want to go a little “fancy” a mason jar works great! (See here.) A plus for a jar is that it is the perfect thing for a teacher or co-worker to keep in their desk!
And if you need to make several, cellophane bags work great too! My trick to jazz these up (and to fill out the bag a little) is to use some colored, shredded paper.
I like gift tags because they add a little “finishing touch” to a simple gift at basically no effort! Win!
We are going to use our gift tags for teachers and family (and if SOME people who live in this house-names will be kept anonymous-don’t eat all of the Valentine’s Day candy, we will share with the neighbors too! Who could you give a little Valentine’s Day treat to? Let’s spread some love around this February 14th!
