“It’s that time, Christmas time is here. Everybody knows, there’s not a better time of year. Hear that sleigh, Santa’s on his way. Hip, hip, hooray for Christmas Vacation.” (If you know what song this is, well, we are soul sisters. 😉
Christmas Movies: My Favorite Tradition
Where are my Christmas movie lovin’ peeps AT?
This is by FAR my favorite time of year. There is so much to love about the holidays. One of my favorite traditions is watching Christmas movies. (Disclaimer: I don’t just watch them in December; I sometimes also watch these movies in the summer for a mid-year Christmas fix.)

Miracle on 34th Street (old and new versions), It’s a Wonderful Life, Elf, Charlie Brown Christmas, Christmas Vacation, White Christmas, Rudolph, Christmas in Connecticut, A Christmas Story, Christmas Carol, Home Alone…I love them all! (These are just some of the Christmas movies in our collection.) My husband and I quote Christmas movies all.year.long. It’s kind of a fun challenge…how to work a movie quote into regular conversation. (Are we the only people that do this?)
During the holiday season, we usually have Christmas music playing during the day and a holiday movie playing at night. We have such a collection that we probably should start watching them in October to make sure we see them all (and, let’s be honest, some get multiple watches).
Cotton Headed Ninny Muggins
I was talking with some friends recently about homemade gifts for this season and couldn’t get movie quotes out of my head. Call me a “Cotton Headed Ninny Muggins,” but I think I figured out a way to combine my love of the Christmas holiday, movie quotes, and humor into one little printable: gift tags.
Soap Gifting: Ya Filthy Animal
Every year I give soap and body wash from Bath and Body Works. (I’ve been a fan of their cute packaging and delicious scents since I was 13. No, this isn’t sponsored. These are just the facts. I’m a girl who loves cute packaging….Probably why I decided to make gift tags now that I think of it….wink.)
Anywho, there are a few Christmas movie quotes that lend themselves quite nicely to being perfect for gifting friends and family….(you guessed it)…soap. While anything from Bath & Body Works IS a lovely gift, putting a gift tag on it that has a sarcastic quote from a movie will definitely be memorable!
Free Printable! You Serious, Clark?
I have classic, more tradition, Christmas gift tags you can find here, but for those of you that love cheesy Christmas movies as much as I do, these are for you!
The three quotes included in the gift tags are from Christmas Vacation, Christmas Story, and Home Alone.
I am so excited with how these turned out! I cannot wait to use them. I think they will bring some smiles and chuckles and will definitely help keep me in a festive mood while wrapping all.the.presents. (Click on the box below to sign up to get yours!)
If you’d rather not buy soap, it’s actually SOOOO much easier than I ever thought possible to make some using this method! Really. My daughter and I made some easy soap bars last year and it took hardly any “hands-on time” at all!
Homemade DIY Gift: It’s a Beaut, Clark!
Don’t want to give soap, but want to be like Cousin Eddie and wrap up “something really nice”? Well, I have a few cute ideas for you!
Amanda at Miss Sue Living has the cutest wood ornaments! Click here to see how to make this easy gift! I love how these could be customized for each person on your list.
Jaclyn at Coffee, Pancakes, & Dreams has 5 Dollar Store DIY gift ideas. I LOVE a good Dollar Tree hack! Here are FIVE! (This one looks especially tasty!)
April at Love Our Real Life is sharing cute DIY glass pebble magnets. Am I the only one who always seems to be looking for a magnet? What a fun idea that can get your tweens and teens involved!
Now I can’t guarantee the gift-receiver hollers out “It’s a MAJOR AWARD!” when they open your gift, but I CAN guarantee that these gifts and tags will help to make this the “Hap-Hap Happiest Christmas…this side of the nuthouse!” (wink)
How many movie quotes did I manage to sneak in this post? Let me know in the comments!

These gift tags are so creative! I also like to give Bath and Body Works soap as gifts so these tags will be perfect.

Thanks Amanda! I like personalizing gift tags for the recipient (and it makes me smile when wrapping things up, so added WIN!)
