Candy Corn: A Great Fall Treat to Give
I don’t know about your house, but over here it seems there can’t be fall without a few key items, specifically:
pumpkins, beautiful leaves, candles, and…
candy corn.
My husband, “Mr. PearTreeHome”, is a big fan of this tri-colored confection and has brought our kids “into the fold.” In fact our toddler was sick last week and in order to coerce him into taking his medicine, I bribed him with a piece of candy corn. (Don’t judge! You know the song “Love is a Battlefield”…? Yep, that should be the battlecry of motherhood. There is no reasoning with a 2 year old, people. I pick and choose my mama battles, especially when I am running on little sleep because said 2 year old kept waking up at night. Having a cold is the worst when you are a thumb sucker!)
So, apparently this tiny-little-triangle-of-colored-corn-syrup is not only cute, it also has the magical capabilities of getting a toddler to comply and willingly take medicine. (And it even has fun fall colors to boot!)

Candy Corn Printable Gift Tags
It seems like everyone could use a little candy corn in their life this time of year, so with this in mind I created some FREE printable gift tags.
Do you know a teacher, neighbor, coach, friend, colleague, family member? (Yep, I thought so. Even I, who usually claims to “live under a rock” knows a few of those peeps.) These gift tags would be perfect to spread some “Autumn cheer.” (I made two that could be used if you don’t celebrate Halloween- they can be used for a sweet “fall” treat! And also made two that were more “Halloween” specific. Something for everyone!)
I picked up my candy corn at Walmart and Dollar Tree, but they can be found practically anywhere between August and November. (Another plus? This is a super thoughtful gift and looks really cute wrapped up with the gift tags, but costs VERY little! No judgement if you want to do a little celebratory happy dance right now! Go ahead! I’ll wait. Better yet, I’ll join in with you! [wink]
Printable Halloween Gift Tags: Cute & Cheap Treat
There is no “right way” to package up your candy corn, but below you can see the 4 different ways I used to I wrap them up to give you some ideas. (I used a mason jar, a tiny canister, a cellophane bag, and a small gift bag.)
Just cut out a gift tag and tie it on and you are SURE to add some happiness to someone’s day…and who wouldn’t want to do THAT!?
(Link to find the tags in the Printable Resource Library is at the end of the post.)
What is your favorite candy for this time of year? Let me know in the comments!
