Snail Mail is Happy Mail
Kiddos stuck at home? Have them brighten somebody’s day by sending a card they colored.
Justin Timberlake claimed he was “bringing sexy back”…I don’t know about that, but I do think that this coronavirus just might help with bringing snail mail back.
Who doesn’t like getting mail? (Not the bill kind- yuck!) It’s always fun going to the mailbox and pulling out a card or letter…whether you are 3 or 103. (And if you are 103 and still going to your own mailbox, let’s chat!)
Teach Kids to Think of Others
It’s very easy for kids to become entitled. Trust me, my kids are NOT immune to this either. But one thing we do to try and help with this ongoing issue is encouraging them to intentionally think of others.
Do you have a relative or friend that you haven’t gotten to see at all recently? Do you know somebody who lives alone? Why not talk to your kids about simple things you could do put a smile on somebody’s face. (It doesn’t have to be difficult! I think that’s why we get stuck sometimes. We feel like we have to do some elaborate gesture: fix a 3-course meal to drop off, or send a lush bouquet of flowers, etc.)
Teaching your kids that simple things are “ok” is actually a lovely gift to give your children in and of itself. Children are more apt to look for ways to serve others when they see that they actually CAN (simple deeds are ok too) and that the return feels good. All it takes is a simple coloring page and they are on their way to putting a smile on somebody’s face.

Brighten Somebody’s Day
My kids like to color. Even my middle child (who I sometimes think can only be still when he’s sleeping). I created these coloring pages for my kiddos to have some cards to send to friends and family and wanted to share them with you too! Your kids can get busy coloring 7 sheets and deciding who they want to surprise first!

Oh dear! Email me, Rachel and we will get the template to you!
Hi, I’m tryin to subscribe, but it won’t send the link/password.
I also would like to ask if I can use your free pintables for a library program. We would like to send cards to seniors in our area that are quarantining and yours are just the best. we would make them into cards people can color and we bring to seniors. We’ll put your name on the card.
Thanks,
I’m so glad you can use them for your program, Patricia! I hope they brighten some seniors’ days!
