My grandparents had a magnet on their fridge that read, “If Mama ain’t happy, ain’t NOBODY happy!” I remember thinking it was a funny saying, but I mainly thought of it from a kid’s perspective, specifically getting in trouble if… “Mama ain’t happy.”
Now that I am older, I know the power we have as moms to influence our household. We can really help set the tone and that magnet saying is indeed true- if Mama is a stressed-out-grumpy-pants, then it’s a lot more likely that the rest of the household will be too. (Although there are plenty of days where I am sweet as pie and my kids are, well, NOT. If only “When Mama is happy, everyone is happy” could hold true….Sigh.)
But you know what? Mother’s Day is coming my mama friends. And I have a few gift ideas to help make Mama happy. (See what I did there? *wink*)

I plan to celebrate with family. Just a small gathering to enjoy the companionship and love of my family.
We spent the day very similarly, Lena! I hosted a Mother’s Day brunch with my mom, grandma, MIL, grandmother-in-law, and SIL (and their husbands). Girls got to use the “nice plates” and boys had to use paper plates- ha!
My Mothers Day plans are first church, then lunch with 2 of my sons and my granddaughter and husband. I am then going to take the rest of the day to sit out on my deck and read books to my hearts content!
